Swingin’ Dick hits Willamsport and State College !
Well if last night’s blowout wasn’t enough, Swingin’ Dick and the crew are hitting the road once again. While other bands might peter out after some strenuous activity, Swingin’ Dick is ready to get back at it even after a hard all nighter. Swingin’ Dick is headed north for a few surprise encounters and then is having a mid-week extravaganza in Williamsport at 7 pm on the 14th of October at the Community Arts Center. The trees should be in full color and were expecting a blazin’ good time ! From there it’ll be down to State College for our rousing 7pm concert on Saturday the 18th. We know how those college girls love Swingin’ Dick and we promise not to disappoint !
Both barnstorming events will be broadcast on clear channel KDIK 570 AM so if you can’t be there to enjoy Swingin’ Dick and the crew be sure to tune in ! It’ll be a rousing bash in that Swingin’ Dick can usually keep it up well into the wee hours of the morning.
So come one, come all and get a great big dose of Swingin’ Dick !

Swingin Dick Hits Foxburg !!!
Well what a surprise blowout ! After getting ready for the rest of the engagements across Pennsylvania, Dick decided to divert the jet and land at Butler (PA) airport. Not only to get in a few rounds shooting the steel but also take his best girl up to Foxburg, PA ! And have some lunch there. Of course the band was well at home at the farmhouse in Ft. Magnum, PA but after seeing the beauty of the Allegheny, Dick decided we MUST bring some Swingin Dick their way !
So that we did.
Dick and the crew stormed Foxburg and set up a one night only event in the beautiful Foxburg Inn ! The food and ambience was great and then Dick and the crew kicked up a night to remember. While it was a last minute kind of event, denizens from Emelenton, Butler, Foxburg, Parker, Karns City, and Clarion stormed the small facilities at the inn. Luckily a hastily set up broadcast downlink relay by chief engineer Long Wang got the festivities back to clear channel KDIK AM and coast to coast with the last minute merriment ! Click on Swingin Dick to hear the last minute mayhem ! Even our good announcer Dick Fitzwell was left off guard by the last minute swingin Dick !
Of course the venue was great and Mrs. Swingin Dick was there for all the festivities !

Swingin’ Dick Gets a Bad Blow !
Wow….ya never know what’ll happen next. Most of you have been seeing the severe storms heading through Western Pennsylvania. Unfortunately last night KDIK 570’s main transmitter high atop Magnum hill in Ft. Magnum, PA took a nasty lightning strike. Technician Ho Lee Fuk was slightly injured in the conflagration but is recovering nicely and is expected to be back at work in the next week.
Chief Engineer Long Wang has advised our staff that 2 of the high power triodes in the transmitter’s final stage were destroyed. He’s ordered them and they should arrive shortly. The bad news is clear channel 570 KDIK AM is expected to be off the air for 2 weeks; returning to service just before the end of the month. Unfortunately that means that we’ll be unable to broadcast Saturday night’s performance from the Penn-Wells ballroom in Wellsboro, PA on our clear channel coast to coast hookup. Sorry to disappoint those who wanted to get some Swingin’ Dick over the weekend.
But for those who ARE in the area it’ll be full throttle Swingin’ Dick at 7pm Saturday in beautiful downtown Wellsboro !
Wang will be working on getting it up as soon as possible, and has provided a lower power transmitter that’ll be operating on CB channel 23 (27.255 MHz AM) for the broadcast which given favorable atmospherics and a good antenna might be heard for those dedicated denizens who can’t attend the live performance but can’t help but want some Swingin’ Dick this Saturday night !

Swingin’ Dick and the crew hit Pennsylvania by Storm !
Well, It’s been one hellavua week. After getting more Beaver than any man could be expected to handle (Beaver Falls, Big Beaver, Beaver and Beaver County) they dusted themselves off and headed up across to the northern tier of Pennsylvania. After a one night only engagement in Port Allegany, PA (thanks ladies !) they headed to the world famous Crittenden ballroom at the Crittenden Hotel in Coudersport, PA. World renowned Mecca for travelers who wanted beautiful Allegheny plateau scenery with a truly happening and sophisticated place to be. Much more amenable than stuffy Aspen it proved an all night blowout ! We all know the ladies LOVE swingin’ Dick but the wonderful crowd in Potter County, PA was incredibly receptive. And the party place to be for Pennsylvania sophisticated denizens.
Fortunately our good announcer Dick Fitzwell was in typical rare form to broadcast the festivities over clear channel KDIK for those who couldn’t make it ! But they missed a treat.

Swingin Dick welcomes Jenna Talia !
As we open our Pennsylvania Gala season in Big Beaver, Swingin Dick is excited to welcome Jenna Talia to our band ! Jenna is a virtuoso saxophonist well known to her dedicated fans and unequaled in being adept at fingering her horn ! We will be featuring Jenna Talia in her own prominent solos while the rest of the band joins in around the fun this Saturday night at the Starlight Ballroom in Downtown Big Beaver, Pennsylvania. Our band member Dick Fitswell is no stranger to Jenna Talia, enjoying a long term professional friendship. Dick Fitzwell will still be with the band, but will not have to juggle his oral skills as announcer with prowess on the horn. In that Dick and the boys have had rousing success, Fitzwell will be full time as announcer bringing that Swingin Dick mellow suave into the living rooms of millions of Americans coast to coast courtesy of KDIK. So we invite the denizens in Big Beaver to come on down and experience the magic of Swingin Dick this Saturday at 7PM, and for those who will not be able to make it to tune in on KDIK AM while Swingin Dick works his magic !

Swingin’ Dick opens his 2026 Season !
Whatta HUGE event ! Swingin’ Dick and the crew opened their 2026 season at the Zellie ballroom in beautiful downtown Zelienople Pennsylvania just last weekend. The crew in the band were in rare form while the party lasted all night. We’d like to thank the Zelienople denizens as well as the borough of Zelienople for the rousing welcome on the shores of the Connoquessing and their wonderful hospitality. KDIK’s clear channel broadcast microphones were there for a coast to coast broadcast taking Swingin’ Dick to all the citizens of the US !
We’d also like to thank our announcer Dick Fitzwell for volunteering his time and the good folks from KDIK AM for the coast to coast broadcast. And hope those of you tuning in enjoyed the performance !
To be sure the trip over wasn’t a piece of cake; Dick and his trusty copilot (with the band in the back) had to work their way around some serious weather and ground threats to get the Band to Butler County; but as always Dick came through. Whether it’s hooters or thunderstorms Dick has always been able to circumnavigate the terrain !
We all know Dick knows how to avoid threats and they made it just fine into Zelienople Muni ! Plenty of Swingin’ Dick fans at the airport — it was a wonderful meet and greet !
The night truly was a ‘Swingin’ Dick Suave’ night to remember and as such we especially want to thank the ladies for being so receptive to Swingin’ Dick (even if from time to time it fatigues Dick from being able to truly blow on the stand !). Dick and the crew will be heading northeast to State College PA for a big blowout on November 15th so college girls be on the lookout for Swingin’ Dick ! Week after (as long as the band can recover from a huge college party) We’ll be in Williamsport PA on the 22nd at the Starlight Ballroom and then off to Westfield, Pennsylvania to play on the bandstand on the 23rd. All are welcome at our Swingin’ Dick events !

Wow ! Whatta Blowout !
We’d like to thank the River City-zens for the incredible blowout gala concert at George Floyd park in River City, CA on Valentines Day ! We never imagined that after diverting into Ardmore, OK that Dick would be able to take off, fly across the country, and keep it up until 4 AM the next day but Dick and the boys are full of surprises. Hope you made it there and if not caught the wonderful music on KDIK 570 AM clear channel 50,000 watt. We’ll be posting the MPEG and discography soon but it was incredible. DOGE ‘Whiz-Kid’ Lester “Big BALLS” McGuffin was FANTASTIC on trumpet during his dueling trumpets on both “Well Git’ it” and “Bill’s Bounce” and we thank him for the surprise appearance of “Big Balls”. Seeing “Big Balls” going at it with Harry P. Ness is something no one in River City will ever forget. And Harry’s no limp dude; although “Big Balls” held sway Harry P. Ness held up his end of the bargain by driving at their trumpet duel to the delight of the ladies in the audience. And of course that romantic interlude with trumpeters Big BALLS and Harry P. Ness driving Lou Skunt (saxophone) was something that had to be heard to be believed. The party went until 6 AM the next morning and we thank the good police force and city of River City for keeping things going and well in hand.
The party in Thackerville was pretty extreme as well and one might have thought Dick would have gone limp with all the activity ! But as you know you can’t keep a good American Dick down and not only did Dick play the concert there but also got it up in the air, flew to River City, and stayed up all night ! While the limp Europeans and Canadians might’ve looked for an excuse, Dick and the boys are All-American and in America we deal with it and make it work.
Dick and the crew had a wonderful visit in Oklahoma and having Harry Bolz on the Bone next to Dick was a superlative feat and once in a lifetime experience ! I mean, how often does one have Harry Bolz next to Swingin’ Dick ?!? Harry is a true virtuoso and really makes things flow when the rest of Swingin’ Dick and the crew kicks in.
The only thing we can say is if you weren’t there you should’ve been.
The only glitch was the rooms for the band were promised by the Casino (who unfortunately will remain nameless to protect the name of the guilty) but weren’t available. While the rest of the staff was cheerful, wonderful, and pleasant (and wonderful at customer service), the manager at the hotel desk was not and Dick and the boys were left in the cold despite assurances that rooms would be available. But a good Dick can always find a home so arrangements were found and all was well. So all we can say to those headed towards Thackerville is enjoy the wonderful efforts and cheerful staff of the Casino and Restaurants, but when it comes to the Hotel and Hotel Management, be prepared to have a tent. You won’t get alot of help.
Fortunately, Dick and his best gal enjoyed the time and had a wonderful time regardless and while waiting. And had a 1-in-6-million run at the craps game with a 50-roll hand.
(For those thinking about playing REAL money at a casino–for anything other than something like entertainment like going to a movie–and/or other than a couple hundred bucks–please don’t. Given consistent play at ANY casino, you will NEVER win; the odds on EVERY game are against you. Slots are the worst. Yes there is ‘luck’ and a few ‘lucky’ people. But you ain’t one of them. The mathematics are simple. The closest odds games are craps and blackjack; you will typically lose around 20-100 dollars per thousand at blackjack and 10-100 dollars at craps per thousand which has the most even money odds playing the pass line–it’s not unity but perhaps 98-99 percent. Meaning that you can play for hours on 50 bucks at a 1-dollar craps game. And everyone has a ‘system’ that doesn’t work)
You’ll never ‘win’ at a Casino. But you can have fun. Chalk it up to entertainment expense and leave it at that.
BUT you’ll ALWAYS have fun with Swingin’ Dick !

Stop the Presses ! Come see Swingin’ Dick with Harry Bolz !
Dick and the crew ran into a bit of difficulty on their way to sunny California. Seems that a recirculation fan packed it in with some smoke in the cabin. Although not a huge deal and all are well, Dick didn’t want to pull a boner and figured the safest course of action would be to divert into Ardmore, Oklahoma. For our fans in California not to worry — the aircraft will be fixed with Dick up shortly — and you’ll see Swingin’ Dick alongside Big Balls in River City on schedule !
Meanwhile imagine our surprise when we learned DOGE mastermind Harry Bolz was ALSO in the Ardmore area — and is an avid trombone player.
And we know Swingin’ Dick never lets a good opportunity go to waste
So, for ONE NIGHT ONLY we’d like to invite the good folks of Thackerville, OK and anyone else in the vicinity to come see Harry Bolz alongside Swingin’ Dick on the evening of the 13th at 6pm ! They’ll be performing in the ball room at the massive casino just north of the Red River and we’re sure everyone is going to be looking forward to the pictures from this rousing affair. And we’re sure it’ll be a treat to bring your best gal for a surprise look at Harry Bolz next to Swingin’ Dick as they blast away that swingin’ beat that Dick and the crew are famous for !

Come see Swingin’ Dick with ‘Big BALLS’ !
Swingin’ Dick and the crew were surprised that the Whiz Kids spearheading the wonderful DOGE efforts of discovery and cuts in government waste were accomplished musicians as well ! One of their premier analysts goes by the online handle of “Big BALLS.” “Big” is an accomplished trumpet player so will be augmenting our brass section (one might say that we’re gonna have Big Brass BALLS) !
So we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to offer him an invite to play with the band at our next big Gala Bash in River City, CA. Dick and the crew will be off to Sacramento this week and from there be hot-footing it down to River City–which has been chosen as the site for our romantic Valentine’s Day Concert. Everyone knows that Valentine’s Day just doesn’t make it without a heavy dose of Swingin’ Dick around — and we look forward to spreading good cheer amongst the River Citi-Zens by giving them Swingin’ Dick for their romantic holiday.
We’ll be starting the festivities at 6 PM sharp on the bandstand in George Floyd park which is just east of the Jenifer Diane statue. And boy does Dick have a swingin’ program planned. Our trumpet player Harry P. Ness stands out and stands proud as the nations’ top TRUMPeteer ! We’ll be playing “We’ll git it” as well as “Bill’s Bounce” (and a ton of other standards) throughout the night. And look forward to featuring Big BALLS swinging with Harry P. Ness driving as they go at it during the dueling trumpet sections of these old standbys. We’ll also be featuring a romantic trio interlude of Valentine’s Day melody where band members Big BALLS and Harry P. Ness play with Lou Skunt (on saxophone) to the delight of all.
So find your best gal and treat her to Swingin’ Dick this Valentine’s Day ! See you there !
In other news we’d like to thank the good folks in Lyndora, Pennsylvania for the wonderful reception and phenomenal Swingin’ time we had during our annual New Years Eve bash. The concert at Pullman Hall was extraordinary and we’ll remember it for years. We’d also like to thank Chief Klinger for understanding when the party got a bit rowdy and appreciate his officers joining the party rather than breaking it up. We do apologize on behalf of a few of our fans for that fireworks mortar round that errantly went awry and started the conflagration at the Lyndora Hotel (which was quickly put out by the Unionville Volunteer Fire Department and our hat’s off to them too), and we promise to replace the Booze that burned up when the mortar scored a direct hit on the bar. Fortunately the mirror wasn’t damaged and we look forward to seeing you all soon !
We’d also like to thank the wonderful citizens of Prospect, Pennsylvania for changing the name of the (former) RD#7 and naming it “Dick” Road in honor of bandleader “Swingin’ Dick” long.

MERRY CHRISTMAS from Swingin’ Dick and the Crew !
From our home to yours, Swingin’ Dick and the Band wishes you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ! For those of the Jewish faith we wish a very happy Hanukah !
As you know, you can’t keep a good Dick down so after a year full of health challenges Swingin’ Dick will be kicking the 2025 season off in his native Western Pennsylvania (originally from near Butler, PA–a town far off most people’s radar until late last year). Dick’s got the family country house on beautiful Lake Arthur about 5 miles from the farm show grounds where he’ll be hosting a private get-together for close friends and family. And some fireworks for New Years Eve/New Years Morning after the Bash.
Speaking of the Bash, we invite you to see Swingin’ Dick and the band in his New Years Extravaganza on the bandstand near the Strand just off Main in Downtown Butler. We know the Pennsylvania ladies LOVE Swingin’ Dick so grab your best gal and dance to the Swingin’ Dick beat.
From there it’s off to Big Beaver to usher in the new year so don’t miss the encore performance at Homewood Falls New Years Day starting at 4 pm and lasting into the wee hours. The band will then be off to Cleveland for their winter concert on the following Friday.
We know after an arduous 4-years everyone is looking forward to next year and the Band is no different. So keep your eyes and ears open — Swingin’ Dick may be coming YOUR way !
