Our History

Swingin’ Dick’s was Founded in 2020 by Richard A “Swingin’ Dick” Long–a master aviator and part time musician (specializing in trumpet, tuba, and cornet). He paused his busy airline job to assemble a treasure of dynamic virtuosos dedicated to the style of the likes of Gene Krupa, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and those fabulous big bands. Since then they’ve been banging it hard at dance halls all over the United States; preserving the fabulous Big Band sound while giving it all they got. Each band has it’s own unique sound and the goal of Swingin’ Dick is to give the Swingin’ Dick treatment to the old standards for a hot new experience !
