Well if that don’t beat all ! While enjoying a cold one and firing up a bowl of fine Cavendish in his Italian pipe Ol’ Dick was the victim of a mishap. Seems that one of the boys in the band inadvertently tripped and knocked into Dick’s drink fridge. It wouldn’t have been a big deal but one of the refrigerant lines fractured and it seems modern refrigerators are now equipped with a flammable refrigerant (isobutane). The Isobutane ignited with a WHOOMP and there was suds, tobacco, and Dick everywhere. Unfortunately the fire singed Dick’s Hairdoo but he was otherwise unscathed (thank goodness). Not to worry–Dick’s on the mend and as we all know it’s almost impossible to keep Swingin’ Dick Down ! He and the band will be making the next concert on schedule (but you might see him wearing a hat for the next few weeks). Meanwhile, watch those newfangled fridges !
